What is your role at Thomas?
Group Credit Manager. It is my responsibility to ensure that all our customers make payment to us in a timely manner and to ensure that the company maximises cashflow.
What is the best thing about working at Thomas?
The people. I like the passion that everyone shows about Thomas and it’s products and I feed off of this. I settled into working at Thomas pretty much immediately and that is unique as usually it takes me a couple of months.
What do your assessments say about you?
I am unique in the Finance team as I have an “I” profile - a typical finance profile is C or S. My role is heavily customer facing and I like to build relationships. My motto is that it is better to negotiate and use a friendly approach in line with the Thomas ethos in order to obtain results. These qualities in my profile really came to the fore as the current uncertain climate meant a lot of businesses were experiencing difficult times and I had to factor that in.
What do you most enjoy outside of Thomas?
Sport plays a big part in my life outside of Thomas. I play football twice a week and I am also the Manager of an U13’s football team. I am also a parent helper at Stoke Green Cricket Club. I am a big supporter of Liverpool FC and try to go to as many of their games as I can. I also share a season ticket for Brentford FC with a couple of close friends.
